DSEAR Assessments
Compex qualified and experienced in working in dangerous atmospheres our assessors will collaborate with you and the relevant industry experts to formulate a management plan to assess and deal with any areas that are identified as hazardous. We will establish hazard zoning plans and safety measures to follow.
DSEAR assessments cover a range of atmospheres and substances that if not risk assessed appropriately can have lethal and life altering consequences.
These can range from the obvious to the less obvious processing of liquids (ethanol in distillation) and grains/dust (used in large bakeries or breweries/ wood or sanding process in manufacturing)
Occupancy calculations
We can calculate the occupancy capacity for your venue or event and incorporate this into your Fire Risk Assessment, using our knowledge of the building regulations and human behaviour.
These are required for licensed premises or large, medium and small places of assembly. These are also useful for building and business owners to work from when planning the use of their sites.

Comprehensive fire safety management folder
This is a vital tool provided to you on completion of your risk assessment to help you in the continued management of your premises.
This folder holds a management guide highlighting the relevant British standards and summarising the lay person checks allowing you to record all your proactive steps with regards to fire safety to present to the enforcing authority or insurance company upon request.
Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan
A PEEP may be needed for someone with an impairment or disability which will impede their ability to recognise and respond to in an emergency.
Impairments and disabilities may include:
- Mobility impairment
- Sight impairment
- Hearing impairment
- Cognitive impairment
- A medical condition or injury causing the person to require assistance to evacuate safely.
These can be temporary, and the plan must not rely on the Fire and Rescue Service intervention.
